PreCalc :: Chapter 8 Conic Sections Quiz

This is just a test one.
We're not sure about the effectiveness of math study guides, since math essentially is more of a "practice make perfect" type of class, similar to literature.

But heres a sample one. It covers chapter 8, sections 1-4 for Puccinelli's Quiz, test, and Stark's tests/quizzes on the chapter.

[Meridian]_PreCalc_Chapter_8_Conic_Sections.pdf

Mr. Jennings' and McCarty's classes are going faster, so they might not be much help.
Edit: Tim just told me that they actually skipped chapter 8, and will be coming back after chapter , I'm guessing.

Again, this is a test section, so comments on improvement, or even neccessity of this are appreciated.

RSS Feeding

Wanna know what the “Entries RSS” and “Comments RSS” orange icons on the side are?

Well, they’re a somewhat new and quite obscure technology for blogging. It’s very similar to newsgroups (But I doubt most of you know what newsgroups are either). To put it simpler, its like subscribing to some website like NewYorkTimes or GameSpy, and whenever they have something new, you will receive an email about it.

So, basically. You can just get our notes/announcements through an external program. (Don’t have to go to meridiannotes.com everytime you want new notes)

Tutorial:
1. Go download any RSS Feed Aggregator. I suggest the one I use which is SharpReader. http://www.sharpreader.net/SharpReader0960_Setup.exe
2. Install it, then open and delete all the pre-set RSS Feeds. Like “cnet news”, unless you want to keep them. (Just highlight and press Delete)
3. Right mouse click “Entries (RSS) and click “Copy link location” or just copy this “http://meridiannotes.wordpress.com/feed/”.
4. Go into SharpReader Ctrl-O, and paste the link into the address bar. Then tick the “Subscribe” box.
5. Meridian Notes should have went into the left column where you deleted the old subscriptions. And on the right, should be all posts made on Meridian.
6. This way, it’s much easier to receive our notes. I like it because it works very similar to Outlook and Outlook Express.

PS
It’s in your traybar on the bottom right of your computer. it looks like a blue circle with “#” in it. By default, it updates every hour and there will be a popup on the bottom if any new posts are made.
Tim was having problems with SharpReader so here’s another RSSReader if SharpReader doesn’t work.
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70179&package_id=74816&release_id=323066
I don’t feel like trying it out, but it’s supposedly very similar to SharpReader

PSS: For Feedreader (2nd link) add in “http://meridiannotes.wordpress.com/feed/”.
That is all. If theres any problems.

Humble Beginnings

Yay! Meridian Notes finally got its own website (sorta)! From now on, announcement will be posted here along with Notes for download. Suggestions and comments are always welcome (email). Currently, the staff are juniors so the notes will be obviously for junior classes.

Our current projects include:

  • United States History AP
  • Biology AP

Since we have limited staff, we will be only covering these 2 subjects for now. As we get more people, our subjects may expand.

Next week, 3/27 to 3/31, we will be covering 3 notes:

  • APUSH Unit VII Test ~ Monday
  • APUSH Unit VII DBQ ~ Tuesday/Wednesday
  • Bio AP Quiz: Digestion, Circulation, Respiration ~ Tuesday/Wednesday

That’s all for now. Thanks for all the support we’ve recieved lately ^^
