APUSH :: Saturday Reviews

Yes, we actually have the Saturday reviews. And no, we’re not closing down. (At least not yet)
We’re just pointing out the possibility that it might happen, so don’t rely on Meridian for everything. It is still run by students, and we walk the fine line of the Academic Code of Conduct.
And i can paraphrase Platt’s announcement during the review, ‘I will not be posting on the powerpoint, because you people used your time to come here. It wouldn’t be fair for me to post it on so everyone can use it, when you’re all so much more dedicated.’
Or something of that order :)
____________________________________
Ok. APUSH on a Saturday. Ha-ha…

The life of an APUSH student, what is that? I always thought that because of the unusual day of the review, there would be no one. But to my greatest surprise, I was wrong.
9:50 AM, April 29th.
C106, Mrs. Platt’s APUSH class.
Density of classroom: 75%
Choice seats: All taken.
Side seats: Mostly taken.
Corner seats: Not taken.

I find the APUSH student very intriguing. They’re willing to waste immeasurable amounts of time on one class when they can spend it on other academics, or even *GASP* get a LIFE out side of APUSH. So I ask myself. Are APUSH students really that bored? Are they really so hopeless that the allure of a 120 page PowerPoint can force them away from their friends/computers/TVs just to go to school? ON A SATURDAY???

OF COURSE!!! WE ARE APUSH STUDENTS.
THE FEW.
THE PROUD.
We waste countless hours that could be spent on a real life all in the name of college acceptance!!!
NOW GO OUT THERE. AND GET A FIVE ON THE AP!!!!!!!!! XD

And now to pleasure your zealous pursuit for excellence, here’s both APUSH ppt and wordformat-pdfs for Platt and Carter-Giannini.

*Note: the wordformat pdfs are more informative since they include teacher discussions and not just ppt information. They’re also easier to read. :) But if you want the AUTHENTIC (or as close to it as we can get) PowerPoint, we still have the original ppt formats for your downloading pleasure.

Overview of the US Economy (AKA: Econ 101)

(Thank Tim & Lei for original ppts & wordocs)

Meridian :: Closing Down (Jay Kay)

Due to many arguements on the reputability of Meridian Notes, and conflictions with the School Code of Conduct, Meridian Notes will have to close down.

This is due to the schoolboard complaining about the “leaked” information given out through these documents. They have given us 24 hours to complete shutdown and destroy all documents pertaining to Meridian, or else the staff (us) might be expelled from the school district for not complying with the Academic Code of Conduct.

Sooo. goodbye everyone. It’s been a pleasure serving you.
Infact, we peaked a hit/day rate of 920 on friday. yay. Well. See all you around.
Of course, this also means that past documents will be deleted, and there will not be any new guides created
This also obviously means that there will be no pdf/ppt on the saturday reviews.

Have fun at APs everyone.

- Meridian Staff

NOTE: For those who failed to decode the cryptic “JK” prefixed above, we assure you that everything above is pure fabrication, a result of a certain staff member’s perverted sense of humor (it WAS quite amusing).

-John

Ahahha. it was all me ^^; but then Tim backed me up. hahah. It was all because I got kinda scared that Mrs. Platt would reprimand such a site. (even though she already seen it and *i think* approved of it *according to amy*)

APUSH :: The Rise of Labor Powerpoint

This was the after school review on THURSDAY. Sorry that this ppt took awhile to get posted (but of course we know that none of us would read this till the day before the final :) ). Lei typed this ppt up and it is NOT in verbatim (that’s why I did not organize the ppt like the previous ones). Infact, he took down some extra notes as Platt was discussing this topic in class.

On a side note, Meridian will be posting saturday’s two ppts and a guide for monday’s test. However, there will be no guide on the final :( Have a nice weekend!

APUSH :: Unit VIII: Cold War Culture and Economics

Yay, tomorrow’s APUSH quiz notes are finally finished. Once again, thanks to John for organizing all the info (make sure to give him a hug tomorrow =D). Anyways, comment if there are any problems/mistakes.

UPDATE: 1:20 am -.- Dumb mistake lei picked out. Warren was OBVIOUSLY not appointed by Nixon (Nixon appointed Burger). Warren was appointed by Eisenhower just to clarify (doubt we have to know it for quiz)

AP Biology :: Animal Development and Organization

This was the little section that wasn’t tested on any of the other quizzes but is included in this unit. I assume tomorrow’s test will also include some problems on it but if not, they are definitely helpful for studying SAT II Bio and/or AP Bio tests.

AP Biology :: Immune Response and Nervous Systems

This is the final addition for the Animal Systems Exam in Ms. Tsai’s and Mrs. Frazier’s BioAP classes tomorrow.
The other study guides for the exam can be easily located by clicking the “AP Biology” catagory link on the left side.

NOTE: There has been (or will be) two versions two the guide since the first post in which: ["cytotic" was corrected to "cytotoxic" (found in Cell-Mediated Response Section) and in the Diseases Section "B-cells" clarifed as "Beta Cells" (not the immune system B-Cells)]. “Perforin” is also spelled “preforin” under Natural Killer Cells on v1.1, but shall remain that way as Tim is too lazy. If you printed the first version (1.0), I apologize and will be sure to lend you a felt-tipped pen for correction tomorrow (or you could do so yourself).

-John

EDIT: Jeff has pointed out to me that the 119-12x note pages are not included in Meridian (protosomes, coelomate, etc.), I will jump on those notes right away after I am done with the APUSH part. They should be completed in the next hour.

- Tim

APUSH :: The Rise of Industrial America Parts I & II

Day 3’s APUSH review just finished. (Everyone left me v_v, except Lei, who isnt even a staff)
Unfortunately, this version is not formatted into powerpoint yet, and there might be some spelling/grammatical errors.
But it’s better than nothing.

Download: Temporarily Down

The Power Point format of the notes will be finished in an hour or so.

Edit:
Nevermind. Done alot faster than I thought.
There still might be grammatical errors , so comment if they’re glaring obvious
I think my copying skills are good enough so that there are no informational errors. :) But as always, comment if there are any.

APUSH :: U.S. Foreign Policy Review Part II Powerpoint

Day 2 for the Foreign Policy Review. Since Amy wasn’t here today, Jeff Lo once again helped Meridian out by typing up the entire powerpoint in verbatim :)

Download: Temporarily Down
For the extra guide, John already finished part 1, I’ll see when I can finish part 2.
