Hello all! We hope you’ve all been doing well on all your projects! Here’s quick update on things:
Meridian in El Estoque!
Thanks for everyone that read both of our articles that was featured in the last edition of El Estoque, the school newspaper. It’s because of support from everyone that we even got there in the first place, so thanks for visiting this site!
Meridian Films
Some of you may have recently seen movies in your classes with “A Meridian Films Production” in the opening credits. This was used for films that were part of class projects that Meridian staff members participated in. Two films have featured this opening sequence so far, including an APUSH video on video game consoles through history (made by Tim, John, Jeff, and Willy), and “Equilibrium Wars: Episode I, The Catalyst Menace” (made by Tim. Other non-Meridian group members include Lei Gong, Jerry Chen, and Hawnlay Swen). Look for links to YouTube soon to watch.
So are we expanding into film? The answer is…yes! Of course we will remain forever Meridian Notes, but we’re also looking to open fun projects on the side. We’re currently in the process of writing a script for a short movie we’ll be filming this summer. We’ll see what else summer/senior year/boredom will churn up…maybe you’ll see more movies in the future, who knows.
Meridian Music??
This is definitely not happening anytime soon. Tim just decided that “Meridian Six” should be the name of the band if we ever made one. Of course, we are all not musically talented so this won’t happen for awhile. An excerpt from Willy’s xanga:
Meridian Band (The Meridian Stix/Six) I like stix, like pik-up-stix
Accoustic Guitar/Violin: Tim (ahahhaa…)
Bass Guitar/Piano: Jeff (meh)
Drums/Piano/Vocal: Amy (loL!)
Lead Vocal: Unknown
Accoustic Guitar/Vocal: Unknown
Meridian Fansubs?!?!?!
HAHAHA this one I’m 99% sure this isn’t happening. But it’d be hilarious if it did. The worst subs in the world. Also taken from Willy’s xanga:
Meridian-fansubs] Japanese anime subbing. w00t
Translator: Jeff/Tim
Typesetter/Timer: Everyone else
Writers Wanted!
Anyway. On a more serious note, Meridian is looking for people intersted in writing some of the earlier study guides for APUSH and AP Bio. As most of you know, HXQ (the “original” Meridian) didn’t write study guides for all of the content covered in the course, so next year we hope to complete our notes database. Please contact us if intersted!
That’s all! Sorry for such a long post! Good luck on your projects, finals, and have an AWESOME summer!
- Amy
Edit:
I see that the heads are inflating already…
But, of course, all this is just speculation, for the most part atleast.
Wild ramblings and thoughts by only the most ambitious (and not to mention most pretentious) of us.
- Willy
Edit:
2 things to clarify…
1) For those who are interested in becoming guest writers, please send an email to meridiannotes@gmail.com and we will file you some form of application shortly
2) some old HXQ notes actually have a lot of information from semester one so they can make the guest writer’s lives a lot easier
Thats all for now I think
