Gov AP :: Chapter Three Vocabulary

Directly across the characters “D-O-W-N-L-O-A-D” below you may find lovely blue-tinted text, which upon clicking, leads to an even lovelier document. This is the chapter 3 vocabulary, compressed into one page for your studying convenience.

(The following text is written by, and only by, Tim) One more thing, do NOT bug Amy, Willy or me about the Gov stuff as we are taking Econ and not Gov. Once again, refer to the “projects” tab to find out who is in charge or what. That is all.

Oh noes!

Ahem…hello, fellow users.

Due to the consistency of Mr. Recktenwald’s reading quizzes, you may have noticed that we have not been posting guides on them. We simply cannot make our wonderful guides on such short readings, and for most of the time, the quizzes are just too erratic to formulate guides on. However, they may appear on a whim, perhaps, if the quiz were to cover the whole chapter (Ex. Chapter 2) This is where the OHNOES comes in. You’ll actually have to do your own reading! But never fear, you may always bribe Jaso–….I mean…er… *shrug*, you’re going to fail without us. ^_^ However, we will still be continuing the steady influx of Chapter Vocab guides, so check for those daily. Best of luck on the quizzes! Remember: PLUTO is NOT a DARN PLANET! Oh bugga.

-Jason (Wait a sec that can’t be right…Jason never posts…it’s John…I swear)

APUSH Stuff

I found some APUSH notes that the Meridian staff and I wrote before our days at Meridian, and thought I might as well share them with all of you. As always, the notes don’t do the reading for you, so use them wisely. The most helpful notes in this are probably the final review documents, as they are extremely comprehensive.

Gov AP :: Overview of Democracy

So once again, our lovely host staff members have created a wonderful piece of art unto itself.
But I daresay most of you are not interested in such abstract arts, and just care for the rather bland but informative noting found on such a piece.

So all of you lucky 1st semester Gov AP entrendeers. I bid you goodluck and farewell. For as such atleast obtained to of course, what we all know as tomorrow’s Gov AP quizzicular events. And of course, never forget to honor those brave souls who fought to the ends of the textbook to provide with these generous rewards. (Sires John and Jason)

Gov AP :: Chapter One Vocabulary

Hello all faithful fans/leechers/audience.

Meridian Notes is officially back to business. Our first order of interest is Gov AP. And John and Jeff have already made an excellent study guide for all of you to leech. Of course, as always, we are not responsible for any wrong information as written in these guides. Please check the FAQ and Disclaimer for more info.

Thank John and Jeff (best personally at school) for these notes.
I am not taking GovAP this semester, I’m just the primary uploader, but you can thank me for the thought anyways =D

- Willy

Though it would be difficult to copy vocabulary wrong. Much of this guide is taken directly from the book. Its primary purpose is to make it easier to study (rather than flipping through the tedious pages) and does not replace any required reading (disclaimer to satisfy any administration that may be nosing around).

v1.1 updates two additonal vocabulary words and the ideology charts.

This Year’s Projects

As the school year begins to take off, Meridian is resurrecting its staff. Here are the projects that will be actively worked on for this year:

U.S. Government AP [Recktenwald]

Staff: John, Jeff, Jason

Economics AP [Pelkey]

Staff: Tim, Willy, Amy

Physics Honors [Birdsong]

Staff: John, Tim, Willy, Jeff

We’ll have to see about this one…as of right now, it’s a pilot and not guaranteed to last throughout the year. The Projects page has been updated with this information as well.

Project Chiefs will be appointed within the next couple of weeks. As of right now, everyone will be taking Gov AP and Econ AP except for Willy, who will be taking regular Gov second semester. Second semester will consist of quality checking and study guide corrections, so by the time May rolls around you’ll have a comprehensive, complete study guide.

As for Meridian’s plans for Physiology, no Meridian staff member is currently taking the class. Therefore, the project is on hold until either 1) a staff member transfers in or 2) a guest writer wishes to take up the project. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Finally, if you wish to contribute to Meridian, consider becoming a Guest Writer. See FAQ page for more details.

Thanks and we look forward to having a great year!

Upload Server Problems

It has just come to my attention that the server upload base we often use, “xthost”, deletes accounts that received less than 1 hit every week. The reason we use such an unreliable host server is because due to our lack of funding, everything we used was freely provided by some generous fellow internet user.

Thus, because of summer vacation and othersuch, people had no need to use or even look at the Meridian Notes PDF files or other resources.

So now we face the consequences; the account that hosted many of the documents has been deleted. Fortunately, the original documents themselves have not been deleted. The original documents are still distributed and saved in the harddrives of the various Meridian members. The files will be up with a new and better host server within a couple of days… hopefully. But in the meantime, please hold on.

Thank you for your consideration.

- Willy
