AP Biology :: Ecology, Biochemistry, Cell Structure, and Enzymes

w00t, so here is the first semester 1 AP Bio study guide, posted at 2:33 am. -_-;; (I don’t even know why I posted this, no one’s going to read it at this hour)

Because this task was short noticed, Meridian had no choice but to hire some friends as our temp writers, so the quality of the notes will not match up to the other Bio AP guides. Also, since I am lazy and it is 2 am, none of this stuff is edited, summarized, quality checked, or proofread except by the original author, so these notes could have errors as well (refer to disclaimer for details). So yea, John and I assisted Lei Gong (our only permanent GW for bio sem1) along with 2 friends and produced this wonderful (haha yea right) 8 page long guide (lol funny its longer than semester 2 stuff). Anyways, read at your own risk and gl on the test today ;)

- Tim

Due to the fact that this guide does not even meet the bare minimum standards of Meridian , it will be taken down till it has gone through rigorous revamping.
Sorry to those who waited for this guide.

Due to requests. This has been put up, unfortunately not edited yet.

Gov AP :: Chapter Nine Vocabulary

The title should explain itself very well . If it fails to do so… come talk to me.

Physics Honors dropped, but Physio is a go

Okay, I have some good news and some bad news, so here’s the bad news:

After much discussion and debates, Meridian will have to regretfully drop Physics Honors. Since more than half of the physics material is mathematical, it is almost impossible to write a perfect guide for it. The book also does a good job explaining the covered material along with numerous external resources for explanations, so we feel it would be a waste of time to write more notes when we could instead allocate our time to improve other subjects (Econ AP and Gov’t AP).

And the good news is…

Physiology (though not AP) will be a subject worked on by Meridian in the near future. However, our two diligent guest writers for the physio department will be Vivian Le and Lillian Zhang (yay claps). I am aware that not many people are taking physio but I think we should give these two guest writers props for their effort to help out the MV community.

On a side note, we will be needing TWO more guest writers for Biology AP first semester, feel free to talk to any staff member at school or send an email to the meridian email address at meridiannotes@gmail.com

That is all. :D

The quizzes keeping going and going and going…

Gov AP :: Chapter 5 Vocabulary

There are 10 vocabulary words in this chapter, and if I recall correctly, vocabulary quizzes are normally 10 questions long. The guide is, understandably, a bit blank. But nevertheless worth the ink.

Economics AP :: Unit 1 Economics 101 Exam

Ahh.
Finally,
the economics team has got off their lazy asses and created a guide.
Well, don’t complain. We didn’t exactly do anything IN the class before this.

But as you all (hopefully) know, the econ team might be the more eccentric group of the two. So you might find some irregularities here and there, but we are of course trying as hard as we can to fix them.

And of course, with our competitive spirit, we have created a marvelous design for you, to match *coughEXCEEDcough* the quality of the last GovAP guide. :)

Note: If you havn’t noticed, the main font used is *somewhat* similar to The Economist, a great international affairs magazine. (To make it look more professional and classy)
Never read/heard it before? It unfortunately needs a subscription for most of it’s articles, but if you like to keep in touch with issues in the world, it’s definitely a good investment.

UPDATE: 1:57 AM. Not really a mistake but more of a clarification, because the graphs weren’t labeled. Alex Huang pointed out that the graphs on chart 6 are a bit misleading/confusing. Please note that the first graph refers to a normal good, whereas the second graph refers to an inferior one.

Unfortunately, Willy has gone to sleep so we can’t edit the document until tomorrow. Hopefully that clarification helps clear some things up.

- Amy

Gah. Fixed. Sorry about last night, but I had to go to sleep or else worsen my cold that I suddenly got for some strange reason… …
Usually I do stay up after 2am though. Last night was just bad for me.

Gov AP :: Unit 1 “The Constitutional Underpinnings” Notes

This guide will burn your ink. But at least it looks cool. And Meridian made this. So don’t sue us.

Gov AP::Chapter 4 Notes (pg 112-129)

Here are the Chapter 4 notes for the second reading section. The notes give a good outline, and have a few specifics, but do not nearly cover the extent of the reading…(so you’ll have to actually read! oh no!!) Anyways, they’re here for your viewing pleasure:

Oh btw, these are still in RAW format, meaning we have not finished editing them. Look for a polished guide before the unit test comes around!

Gov AP :: Chapter 4 Vocab

Yessir. Yet another guide for Government AP.
I daresay the Gov AP team is outstripping the Econ AP team by a long shot.

But on the other hand, I might like to add… What exactly did we do in Econ AP that necessitated a creation of a guide? ^^
I guess the Econ AP team lucked out on this draw (me thankfully, amy, tim)
